New from M/A-COM Technology Solutions is a high-gain, low-noise amplifier (LNA) for wireless infrastructure, Wi-Fi and L- and S-band applications. The single-stage MAAL-011078 covers bandwidths between 700 MHz and 6 GHz with excellent noise figure, OIP3 and gain, and its return loss can be optimised over narrow bands by implementing simple external matching networks. The integrated active bias circuit allows direct connection to 3 V or 5 V supply and minimises variations over temperature and process. The bias circuit voltage supply can be utilised as an enable pin to power the device up and down during operation.
