2,5 V micropower op-amp in SOT-23

26 September 2001 Analogue, Mixed Signal, LSI

Microchip's new 2,5 V micropower operational amplifier is available in a tiny SOT-23 package. The MCP606 provides a low pin count analog solution for space-constrained embedded applications. The new op-amp has an offset voltage of less than 250 µV and a supply current of only 25 µA with a single supply operation over the 2,7 to 5,5 V range and a low bias current of 1 pA. The low offset voltage and bias current eliminate the need for offsetting circuitry in most applications and the low supply current is less demanding on the battery or power supply. Available in a single operational amplifier configuration, the MCP606 features rail-to-rail swing at output and unity gain stability and is fully specified from -40 to +85°C with power supplies from 2,7 to 5,5 V. Applications for this device are typically battery-operated and include sensors and instrumentation.

The MCP606 is supported by Microchip's FilterLab active filter design tool that simplifies active filter design for embedded systems. Available at no cost from Microchip's website, the FilterLab software provides full schematic diagrams of the filter circuit with component values and displays the frequency response.
