Digital humidity and temperature sensors

25 February 2015 Analogue, Mixed Signal, LSI

The devices in Honeywell's HumidIcon range are digital output-type relative humidity (RH) and temperature sensors combined in the same package. They offer RH accuracy levels from ±4,5% (HIH 6100) up to ±1,7% (HIH 9000).

The sensors benefit from long-term stability (1,2%RH over five years) and extended reliability (over 9 million hours mean-time-to-failure). Other technical details include a low supply voltage (2,3 V d.c.), low power consumption (1 μA in sleep mode) and 14-bit resolution.

With their wide operating temperature range, the devices are ideal for use in many industrial and medical applications, such as HVAC/R equipment, air compressors, humidifiers/dehumidifiers, telecom cabinets, respiratory therapy and incubators / microenvironments.
