250 kSa/s 12, 16-bit micropower ADCs

The LTC1860 and LTC1864 from Linear Technology are serial 12-bit and 16-bit, 250 kSa/s analog to digital converters. In 8-lead MSOP packages they are suited for portable or compact instrumentation. The LTC1864 draws only 850 µA at full speed and 2 µA at 1 kSa/s. An innovative self-clocking conversion enables the accuracy of the ADC to be independent of the shift clock frequency. This allows the LTC1860 and LTC1864 to operate with low MCU clock speeds as in opto-isolation applications or with high clock speeds to save processor overhead. The SPI/Microwire-compatible serial I/O LTC1860 and LTC1864 devices are packaged in either MSOP-8 or SO-8.
