Kycon has expanded its USB series, adding two top-mount USB 3.1 Type C connectors to its lineup. Measuring just 8,4 by 2,6 mm, it’s small enough for the smallest peripheral devices, and can handle significantly faster data rates than the standard USB 2.0 products. It is backward compatible with USB 3.0 and 2.0, and notably reduces the amount of wires needed to make devices work, representing a versatile but tiny design solution that works for all devices.
The connectors are available with dual surface mount or hybrid contacts, and are rated for 10 000 mating cycles and a 4A for VBUS. They come in tape and reel packaging.
