Analog Devices has introduced new iCoupler digital isolator ICs for ensuring safe system performance for applications operating in noisy, harsh and unpredictable healthcare and industrial environments. Their surge protection capabilities are tested at 16 kVpk and they withstand voltage ratings up to 5 kVrms.
Combining high-speed CMOS and monolithic air core transformer technology and an on-off-keying (OOK) architecture, these digital isolators are in production with versions in different packages and channel counts forthcoming. Currently available models come in a selection of withstand voltage ratings up to 5 kV, packaged in 8- and 16-lead SOICs.
