In-service measurements on SDH and SONET networks are the subject of Application Note 68, available from Wavetek Wandel Goltermann SA. This describes the use of the WWG ANT-20 Advanced Network Tester together with test point scanners to provide access to multiple links, and covers 'intelligent' measurement control using the CATS Test Sequencer. There is also useful information on integration into a network management environment via remote control, including TCP/IP.
