Ethernet connector module

13 September 2017 Interconnection

From Telegärtner comes the fully shielded AMJ-S module which can meet the stringent Cat 6A requirements for 10 Gigabit Ethernet. Its slim design in Keystone format (19,3 x 14,7 mm) ensures it will fit in cramped spaces and can be combined with faceplates and patch panels from all well-known manufacturers. With a zinc die-cast housing, connection to grounded circuits is taken care of efficiently.

The module requires no special tools and can be efficiently terminated with tools found in any handyman’s toolbox. The termination of the cable shield is also accomplished effortlessly and provides a continuous 360° shield. The ratchet-type cable strain relief clamp accommodates any cable size between 5 mm and 9 mm.

The IDC termination guarantees reliable contacting of any conductor size between AWG26/1 and AWG22/1 for solid wire and AWG27/7 to AWG22/7 for stranded wires. This makes it suitable for a wide range of cables and ensures backward compatibility with older technology.

The AMJ-S is not limited to industrial applications only, but is equally at home in data centres, commercial and medical facilities and even residential installations. Its slim design and standard dimensions mean it can fit other manufacturers’ Keystone panels, faceplates and enclosures.

Using the AMJ-S in high- density applications saves space whilst still offering ease of access for maintenance or reconfiguration. A 19", 48-port panel, for example, with two rows of 24 slots taking up the space of just one rack unit, has connection facilities for 48 cables. This configuration is a popular choice in data centres where space is at a premium. The convenient snap-fit technology offered by the AMJ-S makes speedy work of installation on site. The cabling can be preassembled outside and simply clicked into place in the data centre, reducing labour time to a minimum.
