Semtronics, OK International's ionisation and ESD control systems division, offers the SE200 ionising air gun. Excessive electrostatic discharge can cause major problems for an assembly at any stage of production. It is particularly unexpected but still prevalent when conducting peripheral tasks such as drying up moisture or blowing dust from the PCB, processes in which the SE200 has been specifically designed to perform.
The SE200's high frequency AC ionisation eliminates peaks of positive and negative ions that often pose a problem for standard 50/60 Hz AC ionisation systems. ESD can create enough energy to destroy the interior circuits of a component and seriously damage an assembly. Generating a reliable ion balance of ±10 V, the handheld, cordless SE200 gives the operator freedom to move around the work environment, suiting individual applications and fine detail processes.
The portable SE200 is equipped with a 6 V d.c. battery charger, measures 181 x 146 x 35 mm and weighs 726 g.
