AverLogic Technologies' high-performance, high-capacity FIFO memory, the AL440, offers the largest capacity of its type in the market along with a list of features making it an ideal solution for all kinds of video processing applications according to the company. Applications for this type of specialised memory are in video processors, mixers, time base correctors, scan converters, image grabbers, broadcast equipment, DTV and HDTV televisions and high-end video projection devices.
Offered as a 3,3 V device, the 44-pin TSOP II packaged chip includes a powerful list of features that can help reduce design time and effort. Both 40 and 80 MHz speed grades include selectable polarity, input/output enable, input/output ready flags, and completely asynchronous read/write operation. With 4 Mb (512 k x 8) capacity, the AL440 FIFO can accommodate NTSC, PAL or up to SVGA resolution data. The input/output enable control signals allow data mask write and skipping manipulations while the input/output ready flags can be used to report the FIFO status and allow direct cascading to expand storage depth. To provide better control flexibility in the design, the polarities of the AL440 control signals are selectable.
