Harwin has launched a range of micro-miniature coax connectors (MMCX) to support the increasing demand for smaller RF applications. Ideally suited to densely populated electronic packages, the MMCX series provides significant space savings, whilst maintaining good RF characteristics/performance.
Cable-to-board and cable-to-cable configurations can be accommodated. The nonslotted design and positive snap-fit couplings reduce RF leakage to a minimum and enable a 360° rotation without signal degradation. With a 50 Ohm impedance rating and operating between 0 to 6 GHz, the connectors offer comparable performance to that of much larger coax types says the manufacturer.
Typical applications for MMCX connectors include: GPS receivers, networking, telecommunications and consumer electronics.
