0,6 mm pitch connectors

27 March 2002 Interconnection

Harwin is launching a new range of surface mount ultra-fine pitch connectors. The MP6 connectors are suitable for use in notebook computers, PDA, games machines, telecommunications, office automation equipment and for internal mounting where miniaturisation and lightweight are paramount.

The 0,6 mm pitch board mounting connectors provide stacking heights of 3 mm, 4 mm and 5 mm between boards. They are available with up to 100 contact positions, are polarised to prevent mis-mating, and equipped with locating pegs for accurate PCB placement. Metal latching clips are available upon request if additional strain relief is required.

The housings are manufactured from glass-filled LCP in a natural colour and have UL94V-0 flammability rating. The housing has a minimum insulation resistance of 100 MW and a dielectric withstanding voltage of 200 V a.c. Male and female contacts are manufactured from brass and phosphor bronze respectively, with a selective gold/tin finish. Contacts will carry up to 0,5 A and have a maximum contact resistance of 70 mOhm. These connectors have a -40 to +80°C operating temp range.
