Transform an RJ cordset into a connector for harsh environments

One of the remaining problems with Ethernet is that if one wants to guarantee the performance, one still must use the RJ45 (Category 5e) connection line in order to avoid interferences and data loss. However, this connector is not designed for harsh environments. In addition, Ethernet signals are very sensitive to EMI, and any problem with contact crimping or lack in shielding continuity, can cause random problems within the network.

Amphenol's RJ Field Series, with patented RJStop system, allows one to: use a standard RJ45 cordset (whose connections and shielding have already been 100% tested) regardless of their brand; and transform it into a harsh environment IP67/IK06 shielded connector. This is without any tool and hazardous in-field cabling and grounding.
