Analog Devices' AD8369 digitally controlled variable gain amplifier (VGA) RF chip is designed for use from very low frequencies to 500 MHz and provides very flat gain response across all gain settings - gain control range from -5 dB to + 40 dB, adjustable in 3 dB increments and controllable through a 4-bit digital interface configurable in either serial or parallel mode. The AD8369 is a differential input/differential output device with a high efficiency output stage that provides very low intermodulation distortion for use with high-performance 12-bit ADCs. It is specified for use in receive-path AGC loops in cellular base station equipment and is well-suited for use in next-gen 2,5G/3G equipment with higher and wider dynamic range IF sampling architectures.
