NJR offers new Class-D amplifiers that it claims offer significant power-savings and improved power efficiencies that allow customers to dramatically shrink the size of their product offerings.
The NJU8721 and the NJU8725 provide the complete digital solution including digital audio data I/F, 8 fs over-sampling digital filters, and sixth delta-sigma modulators. They convert serial digital sources such as the world-standard I2S format into 1 bit PWM signal, which is then subsequently converted into analog signal via external filters. The NJU8711 is a switching driver for class-D operation, available in a very small package.
Most high-end audio equipment uses digital media such as CD, MD, DVD, etc. However the final stage, ie the power amplifier, has traditionally used analog technology. Current significant innovations in DSP technology now allow digital sound to parallel that of analog sound.
These products realise the class-D amplifier for digital power amplification for applications such as: handheld devices; MP3 players; portable CD players; PDAs; and cellular phones.
