0,4 mm pitch connectors in various heights save space

The new line of 0,4 mm pitch connectors from Molex is said to save about 30% of PCB real estate compared to similar 0,5 mm connectors for applications such as cellphones, PDAs, notebook PCs and other mobile devices. The SlimStack series is available in several mating heights, from 1,50 mm to 4,00 mm in circuit sizes ranging from 40 to 120.

The SlimStack 0,4 mm version is part of Molex's broader line of SlimStack SMT board-to-board connectors that includes similar families on 0,50 mm, 0,635 mm and 1,00 mm pitch in mated heights up to 20,00 mm. It also offers many of the same features as the other versions such as gold plating and variable stack heights, but in a more compact design.

The SlimStack 0,4mm connector is available in straight and right angle versions with options such as solder tabs and PCB pegs. The smallest circuit sizes feature a unique metal friction lock that provides added mating retention for portable applications that are subject to shock or vibration. A durable gold-plated blade-on-beam terminal design provides secure mating contact. This series also features strong solder joints for secure PCB retention and an anti-flux design. It is rated at 50 V and 0,3 A with a 30 V right-angle version.
