Interconnection
The RAST 2.5 Pro connector system for IDC termination is a spin-off that has evolved from the well-proven RAST 2.5 system, specifically designed for the domestic appliance industry. Available through Advanced Product Technology, the RAST 2.5's compact construction is the first version of its kind on the market. The RAST 2.5 Pro can be used for interconnecting electrical components and printed circuit boards with higher current requirements. The contact spacing is 5 mm thereby offering air and creepage distances for 250 V rating and a current load of 6 A at 85°C ambient temperature.
Socket connectors in 2 to 20-way versions are available in direct or indirect connectors in either horizontal or vertical design. A large variety of polarising options which will eliminate incorrect connections are available. Semi and fully-automated machines are available to process the RAST 2.5 Pro and other related connectors.
