The STV2310 is a high-quality video front-end circuit designed to process worldwide PAL, NTSC and SECAM analog standards into digitised 4:2:2 YCrCb video format. This ST Microelectronics device provides a cost-effective solution for digital consumer applications, which still need analog video signal inputs while in the transition phase to full digital video. It also addresses a range of legacy issues, enabling consumers to buy new digital TVs without having to replace their older analog VCRs. Key features: ability to interface RGB and Fast Blanking (FB) from SCART plugs; ability to process analog YCrCb inputs with tint control, interfacing to DVD players, for example; high-quality video conversion using a 10-bit ADC to create an ITU-R BT.656 (YUV 4:2:2) digital output; horizontal scaling (zoom-in/zoom-out) including non-linear scaling for 4:3 to 16:9 conversion (panorama mode); complete set of fully-programmable registers always accessible via the I2C Bus interface; adaptative 4H/2D comb filter.
