Industrial capacitors range

10 September 2002 Passive Components

Eurofarad offers a range of industrial capacitors. The metallised film capacitors for AC and pulse applications have self healing (NF C83151 and NF C83153) properties, while the film foil capacitors are especially recommended for high voltage/current and or power applications. Power electronics capacitors, for DC filtering and de-coupling, are used in: AC-industrial mains (50/60 Hz); commutation (converters/inverters); energy storage (welders/lasers). Electrolytic capacitors for filtering, energy storage, switching power supplies and motor starting - comply with ISO9002/EN29002.

Each of these has distinct and different 'best use' applications properties.

The Eurofarad industrial capacitor catalogue (available on request through the distributor) includes selection characteristics. It is most important to note that the service life of capacitors may be considerably reduced if they are used in inappropriate working conditions, such as exceeded rate performance limits, accidental overvoltage, badly controlled harmonic frequencies, poor cooling conditions, etc.
