Amphenol's range of 'Breakaway' connectors provide superior performance in environments requiring instant disengagement. Designed to provide quick disconnect of a connector plug and receptacle with an axial pull, the Breakaway is available in two styles:
* The sub-miniature 'Fail-Safe' (MIL-C38999 Type). The MIL-C-38999/31 Tri-Start Fail-Safe Breakaway connector is qualified to MIL-STD-1760. This standard covers the electrical interface between an aircraft and its 'stores'.
* The miniature 'Twist-Pull' (MIL-C-26482 Type).
These connectors offer a wide range of electrical and mechanical features to meet most demanding requirements: instant decoupling, damage free separation; completely intermateable with standard receptacles; 100% reliable, even in severe environments; inventory support commonality, versatility of standard insert arrangements, solder, crimp and other special purpose contacts.
