Phillips Semiconductors and Erricson Mobile Communications to jointly bring Bluetooth-based products to market

The market for Bluetooth-compliant products, which communicate via radio transmission therefore eliminating the need for wires, is expected to reach US$1,3 billion by 2002. A co-operation agreement between Philips Semiconductors and Ericsson Mobile Communications to develop and manufacture Bluetooth for future applications, will enable electronics equipment suppliers to take advantage of this huge expected market.
