Very low distortion high speed amplifiers

The AD8007/AD8008 amps from Analog Devices are current feedback amplifiers with ultra-low distortion and noise. These are some of the highest performance high-speed amplifiers available on the market. However, unlike other higher performance amplifiers, they have around a third of the quiescent current (9 mA). The trend towards higher performance systems - most notably in wired and wireless communications, ultrasound, and the instrumentation market - necessitate the need for higher performance and higher speed amplifiers.

At 600 MHz bandwidth and with a slew rate of 1000 µs, the AD8007/AD8008 have the speed. The AD8007 features second harmonic distortion of -88 dB at 5 MHz and -78 dB at 20 MHz, while the third harmonic is -101 dB at 5 MHz and -93 dB at 20 MHz. Noise specs are similarly impressive, at 2,7 nV/rt Hz and 22,5 pA/rt Hz. The AD8007 is available in SC70 as well as 8-lead SOIC packages.

Typical applications are in instrumentation, IF and baseband amplifier filters; A to D drivers; and DAC buffers.
