High common mode difference amplifier

The AD628 is a precision difference amplifier designed to accept ±140 V inputs and output to a single supply ADC or sigma-delta converter. Additionally, a dedicated output amplifier allows the designer to attenuate level shift, filter, and gain the output signal. Historically, this functionality was only available with discrete components.

The AD628 is less than half the cost of a discrete solution according to the manufacturer, Analog Devices. The AD628 also provides an offset to convert a bipolar input signal to a unipolar output. Features: high CMV range (±140 V); gain range 0,1 to 1000; single/dual supply operation 5 V to ±15 V; 80 dB CMRR to 500 Hz (min).

Typical applications are for: motor drive interfaces and controllers; industrial equipment accepting inputs from various sensors; high voltage current sensing; sensor signal conditioning.
