DEK claims it has raised the performance of semi-automatic screen printers, by introducing the Viking-class Horizon 05 platform featuring fully automatic vision alignment, the DEK adjustable stencil mount and extensive networking capabilities. Viking-class machines will accept stencils up to 737 x 737 mm, and can be upgraded to pass-through capability as business requirements evolve.
Advanced options including automatic paste dispensing, ProFlow, 2D-inspection with advanced optics and lighting. Vortex underscreen cleaning may be specified at manufacture or added later as machine performance upgrades. The standard tooling bed also enables a wide range of options including custom tooling or FormFlex to be used.
According to DEK the Viking-class was developed to deliver access to advanced features usually found on mid-range or high-end equipment, directly addressing the unique demands of advanced high mix low volume production environments. It achieves stencil-board repeatability of 1,33 Cpk at ±25 µm, while software-controlled programmable lighting enhances the accuracy of visual inspection routines and enables faster fiducial alignment.
Software productivity options not usually found on a semi-automatic machine include QC-CALC statistical process control, as well as DEK's Offline Editor (OLE), which allows product programs to be generated, edited and maintained offline. Tooling options include magnetic tooling pins, MultiFlex system, DEK's patented FormFlex system, or dedicated tooling compatible with the standard tooling bed.
By leveraging the advanced networking features available in the Windows NT operating system, Viking can be easily connected into a factory wide network such as a corporate 10/100 Mbps Ethernet, or accessed across a WAN or VPN via a remote browser.
