Rugged fibre connectors

29 July 2020 Interconnection

TE Connectivity’s ruggedised fibre optics bring the benefits of optical technology to challenging environments, providing more bandwidth, more distance and more performance.

TE’s offering includes Ethernet and other fast communications protocols with the capacity to handle next-generation 40G and 100G when users are ready to cope without the severe distance limitations of copper cables. Optical cables also offer significant size and weight savings to help meet SWaP goals.

Features for ease of use include rear-removable optical termini; removable alignment sleeves that help support simple, effective cleaning and maintenance of termini; and lens protected inserts and termini that protect the fibre core behind the lens and assure the performance of the optical link.

These rugged connectors are MIL-qualified to MIL-DTL83526/20B and MIL-DTL83526/21B, and VG-approval to VG 95319-100 and -101. They are fully intermateable and interoperable with the benchmark PRO BEAM Jr connector series.
