Chip antenna for wireless earphones

Unictron’s CW337, the first in its lineup of pillar antennas, is an SMD-type chip antenna that doesn’t require a ground clearance area and whose performance is independent of the dimensions of the ground plane of a circuit board. It operates in the 2,4 GHz ISM band to support miniature portable devices such as earphones for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connection.

True wireless ear buds (those that have no cable connecting left and right) often suffer low performance and frequency shift of antennas, caused by the unique shape of the user’s ear, impedance variations of the skin (e.g. dry skin versus oily skin) or indefinite direction of the signal source. These challenges are overcome by the CW337, a regular monopole chip antenna that provides longer working distance as well as good signal reception quality from all directions.
