Electro absorption modulator driver

M/A-COM Tech’s MAOM-001200 is a high-performance electro absorption modulator driver IC for SONET and 10GbE applications. The device is driven with a differential input signal that can range from 400 mVpp to 800 mVpp to provide an output that can be controlled from 1,0 Vpp to 3 Vpp.

In addition, this IC has low power consumption of 0,65 W at 2,5 Vpp output (AC coupled output), low RMS jitter and typical rise and fall time of 27 ps. It also offers DC offset functionality for DC coupled operation.

Applications include SONET OC-192/STM64 transmission systems up to 11,3 Gbps, WDM and 10 GbE, and support the 300Pin, XENPAK, Xpak, X2 and XFP standards. The chip is supplied in a 4 x 4 mm, 24-lead QFN.
