Global Navigation Systems (GNS) has rolled out the new TC6000 combo module for navigation devices, designed to offer an array of wireless functions at a low price. The device combines GPS, Bluetooth and TMC/FM receiver or FM transmitter in a package measuring 10 x 9,2 x 2,3 mm.
The TC6000 has very low power consumption and operates from just 1,8 V without any impairment to performance. Data is transferred via a high-speed UART with data rates up to 4 Mbps.
GNS additionally supplies free Windows CE drivers for GPS, TMC, Bluetooth and FM. Third-party suppliers support the Bluetooth functions with software and echo cancellation. Furthermore, the TC6000 features ‘smart fix’ technology which greatly reduces time to first fix of the GPS.
Developer kits and sample quantities of the module are available.
