High-power RF switch

14 May 2014 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

TriQuint announced the release of the TGS2351-SM high-power, single-pole double-throw (SPDT) switch in a 4 x 4 x 1,43 mm QFN SMD package. It operates from DC to 6 GHz and is designed using TriQuint’s 0,25 μm GaN on SiC production process.

The device typically provides up to 40 W input power handling at control voltages of 0/-40 V and has a power dissipation of 10 W. It maintains low insertion loss of less than 1 dB and high isolation of -40 dB typical. The switch is capable of hot switching a 40 dBm signal at 50% switching duty.

The TGS2351-SM has an impressive switching speed of 50 ns and is suited for high-power switching applications in EW, radar and radio systems. It carries an ECCN rating of EAR99 and is lead-free and RoHS compliant. Evaluation boards are available upon request.
