The SLS2 line of frequency synthesisers from L3 Narda-MITEQ operate from 0,010 to 15 GHZ in bands and 19 GHz in extended bands (with the capability of covering octave bands) with the option of doubling frequency by using an external multiplier.
The devices have 1 kHz standard step size and programmable reference frequency via a Micro USB port. They have +13 dBm output power and 60 dBc of spurious suppression. The SLS2 series offers 10 dB below the Intelsat phase noise mask which makes it attractive for down-converters and dual conversions in L, S, C, X, Ku and Ka bands (with the use of a multiplier). Consuming less than 4 W from a 6,5 – 28 V d.c. supply makes the synthesisers well suited for digital radio transmission, and their size and spectral purity are beneficial for radar applications.
The SLS2 measures 51 x 51 x 15 mm, has an operating temperature from -40°C to +80°C, and weighs less than 100 grams. The construction of the device promotes optimised RF and reliability performance, and meets MIL-STD-202 requirements for shock, vibration, humidity and altitude.
