Motorola launched at Cebit, an innovative GSM/GPRS embedded module for the data and voice communications market. The g20 is an extremely small GSM/GPRS communications module, similar to a condensed cellphone core, and can be integrated in any system or product that needs to transfer voice or data information. Thus, it enhances tremendously the system's capabilities, transforming it from a standalone, isolated product - to a powerful component, connectable to communications nets, says Motorola
The g20 is the newest member in the very successful family of GSM modules by Motorola, consisting of the d10, the d15 and the g18. The new g20 dimensions are 48 x 24 mm, and it is packed with a host of highly advanced features that were designed to facilitate fast and easy integration with OEM user products. According to Motorola, the development process for OEM developers is shortened significantly, thanks to a wide range of built-in applications. Its very convenient small size also qualifies the g20 to be included in demanding systems like hand-held terminals, PDAs, etc.
The g20 module will find applications in the automotive, telemetry, security, insurance, EPOS industries, delivery and handheld terminal, PDAs markets.
The g20 works on GSM bands 900/1800 MHz, GSM bands 850/1900 MHz, and GPRS Multi-slot class 8 (optional 10) 85,6 Kbps.
