Amplifiers guaranteed down to 1,8 V

Many operational amplifiers claim to work at low battery voltages, but very few are actually specified for operation below 2 V. In two-cell powered applications, the voltage available near the end of battery life can be as low as 1,8 V. In order to maximise the operating time of these systems, the amplifier has to perform to specifications even at this low voltage.

That's according to Analog Devices, which says that its AD8631 and AD8517 amplifier families were the first amplifiers to specify min/max parametric and functional characteristics at 1,8 V operation. These amplifiers offer outstanding performance with low noise and wide bandwidth at the minimum operating voltage. Consuming less than 400 µW (1 mW for AD8517) they are ideal for application as input drivers, buffers, active filters, and audio amplifiers in handheld devices and loop-powered instrumentation.

Single-supply operation is fully specified from 1,8 V to 5 V and the devices are rated for -40 to +125°C operation.
