Royal Philips Electronics has added two new products to its Bluetooth system solution portfolio. The BGB102 System-in-a-Package (SiP) radio and the Blueberry DATA ROM (PCF87852) form a complete Bluetooth-compliant solution. Together with its industry standard software stack, Philips says it forms a competitive system solution for applications such as mobile phones, headsets, car kits, and PDAs. The BGB102 is a new SiP concept, combining active and passive IC in a conventional ultra small 6 x 6 mm HVQFN package. This plug-and-play radio incorporates all RF parts such as transceiver, baluns, switch and antenna filter. The Blueberry DATA ROM is a baseband IC, suitable for hosted and several embedded applications for computing and consumer mobile communications. It combines low power consumption with 224 KB ROM and a flexible patch mechanism for feature upgrades. It comes in a 7 x 7 mm LFBGA80 package.
