Field deployable LAN workstation in 1U rackmount drawer

Tactronics, an ultra-rugged integrated electronics systems provider, has introduced what it says is the first industry 1U 19" rackmount drawer with an integral computer, 12" display, keyboard and pointing device. The Tactronics 1U Field Deployable LAN Workstation provides customers with an ultimate 'all-in-one' 1U rackmount solution enabling them to strategically manage such applications as: mobile command centres, simple network management protocol, deployable work stations and can be used to control a bank of SATCOMs or radio modules.

Previously, according to the company, rackmount systems only included the keyboard and display, requiring the user to purchase and incorporate a separate computer in the field. This self-contained system incorporates a 700 MHz Pentium III processor with front panel CD-Rom, full size keyboard with an integral pressure sensitive mouse and a laminated 12" TFT LCD display in a 19" IU lockable drawer.
