It is an ideal platform for switch-fabric blade servers and mission-critical computing operations such as third-generation (3G) wireless, voice over Internet protocol, networking, image processing and converged data and voice communication.
The MIC-3358 has been optimised for the Intel Pentium 4 processor-M and Intel 845E chipset. It represents the next step in advanced cPCI platforms, delivering high performance across the 400 MHz system bus and dual DDR memory channels with maximum 2 GB DDR 200/266 memory onboard.
Also provided is 512 KB of on-die L2 cache and dual Gigabit Ethernet. The board's architecture can satisfy customer's requirements for the latest CPUs and I/O, and with its compact form factor, it provides a low power solution that telecommunications and communications applications demand.
