Hiconnex has been in existence since January 1983 and operates from offices based in Midrand. With 20 years of experience in the cable and connector industry the company is equipped to provide a personalised service of excellence to all its current clientele as well as prospective customers.
Hiconnex caters for a niche market, targeting the high end of the electronics market and has a full range of RF and microwave components to support this. Further, it is able to supply a complete service for cables and connectors. Inclusive of this is the provision of technical support from the raw materials to complete assembled items.
Not only does Hiconnex have an extensive product range of D-sub connectors, it also offers one of the largest ranges of coax connectors, Arinc connectors, coaxial cable and wire. This enables it to cover a vast area of the market especially for the military, aviation and telecommunication industries. It is also one of the few companies in South Africa that can offer in-house assemblies of coaxial cable of up to 18 GHz.
Hiconnex is additionally an agent for Radiall, Nicomatic, Axon, FCT, Trompeterand ATI, to mention a few, and therefore has an advantage of being able to provide the technical support behind each specialised product and offer an exceptional after-sales support system. Hiconnex has become the primary agent for Souriau in South Africa, one of the top five worldwide manufacturers of connectors in its field of activity.
Souriau has many decades of experience in the main international programs of civil aeronautics (Boeing, Airbus), space and defence markets. As a preferred partner to the aerospace industry, Souriau develops and manufactures connectors to generic MIL-spec standards, from simple to very complex interconnection systems, such as launcher umbilical cables, optical fibre connectors for high speed data networks, and filter connectors for EMI and transient voltage suppression. Today, Souriau has developed a strong partnership policy with Hiconnex based upon supplying a global offering with technology-driven innovative solutions.
