Supprescraft has specifically developed metal oxide varistors to meet the requirements of TRMSCAAP 2 Rev 2:1994 'Specification for indoor arresters for protection of electricity dispensers'. These varistors are claimed to withstand the high current impulse test at T1 = 4 µs and T2 = 10 µs at 30 000 A and are rated at 480 V a.c. Rated nominal discharge current is 5 kA which is achieved by using single high power 32 mm disks. No matching required due to the use of single disks.
