Maxim's MAX3747/MAX3747A are 3,3 V, low-power, multirate limiting amplifiers with a programmable loss-of-signal (LOS) indicator. These devices provide high gain and good bit-error-rate performance with low jitter. They have better than 4 mV input sensitivity and 120 µV root-mean-square input-referred noise, while consuming only 60 mW. Each amplifier has a programmable signal-detect function that can be set to different assert and deassert levels, while maintaining a 2 dB hysterisis. The MAX3747 features low 13 ps deterministic jitter and less than 3,5 ps root-mean-square random jitter. The devices accept input voltages from 4 to 1200 mV, and provide 500 mV peak-to-peak (MAX3747) or 800 mV peak-to-peak (MAX3747A) output swing. The devices are packaged in a 3 mm, 10-pin microMAX and operate over -40 to +85°C.
