Advantech's ADAM-8000 product series is a universal controller that the company claims provides optimum solutions for various industrial applications in centralised and distributed system architectures. The concept of the ADAM-8000 is to fulfil today's PLC requirement, and also take a step further - to help customers get into the highly growing PC-based control and web-based automation market, according to the company.
The ADAM-8000, a Distributed Control I/O System, was designed as a deterministic I/O system to meet the discrete, deterministic, robust and reliable requirements.
The ADAM-8000 has an advanced system design of integrated CPU and networking or communication function in one unit. Nine kinds of CPU modules are offered to meet different control application needs. It offers various integrated interfaces for diverse industrial applications. It can be connected to most popular fieldbus networks, such as Profibus, CANopen, DeviceNet and Industrial Ethernet.
