2U e-server chassis for flexible system integration

25 October 2000 Computer/Embedded Technology

Advantech has announced details of the SPC-201, a new rackmount 2U e-Server for front-end Internet applications to be used with the IPC-613 series e-Server chassis.

The IPC-613 supports ATX motherboards and is a compact 2U size for rack-mount services. It offers four hot-swap hard disk drive space with an optional SCA-2 backplane, one CD-ROM drive and one floppy disk drive space. Three easy-to-replace 38,6 CFM cooling fans with 115,8 CFM total capacity provide the cooling system and a standard 300W ATX power supply is used.

The recommended motherboard includes dual Intel Pentium 111 processors, an Intel 440GX chipset with 100 MHz FSB and system memory of four DIMMs supporting up to 2 GB of PC-100 SDRAM. The expansion slot has two 33 MHz, 32 bit PCI slots on a PCI riser card and an Intel 82559 10/100Base-TX fast Ethernet controller with an RJ-45 connector. Also included is an integrated Adaptec 7896 PCI dual-channel Ultra 2 LVD SCSI controller.
