Fieldbus systems with remote input and output modules are used for the data transfer between the PC and the automation equipment. Advantech has now launched a series of fieldbus communication interface cards from Hilscher, a leading company in industrial communication technology.
Since PCs do not feature a direct link to the fieldbus, special intelligent interface PC cards manage the entire data transfer so that only useful data are passed onto the user applications. Advantech Fieldbus communication interface cards support three of the most popular communication protocols: Profibus, DeviceNet and CANopen in three fast PC interfaces: PCI-bus, PC/104 and PC/104-Plus.
