USB 2.0 JTAG emulator with remote Ethernet
22 September 2004
Computer/Embedded Technology
Blackhawk's USB 2.0 JTAG Emulator, available with a remote Ethernet capability, adds flexibility and usefulness for the developer in allowing them to access target hardware across a network and from computers that do not support USB (ie, WindowsNT v4.0).
The emulator supports high-speed USB 2.0 controllers (480 Mbps), as well as low voltage devices (1-5 V), and is tightly packaged in a 89 x 51 x 15 mm sized pod. The remote Ethernet add-on runs as a service on Windows2000/XP platforms, which allows access from any host OS supported by TI's Code Composer Studio integrated development environment (IDE), provided each machine is connected to the network. The computer running the remote Ethernet service is not required to have the IDE installed or running, only the USB device drivers the company supplies for the emulator.
This is a quick and easy way to share development hardware across multiple developers in different locations, says Blackhawk. The Blackhawk USB 2.0 JTAG Emulator is fully compatible with TI's TMS320 and TMS470 DSP families, as well as Code Composer Studio Version 1.2/v2/2.1. The drivers support Windows 98/ME/2000/XP.
