Hittite Microwave has released a 10 W GaAs PHEMT transmit/receive (T/R) MMIC switch for infrastructure and handheld/portable applications including cellular/PCS/3G, mobile radio, automotive telematics and test equipment.
The HMC484MS8G is a SPDT switch for use in T/R applications from DC to 3 GHz, where very low distortion of over +70 dBm IIP3 is required at input signal levels as high as 10 W (+40 dBm). This switch provides 0,5 dB insertion loss, 30 dB of isolation and can operate with control voltages from +3 to +10 V, depending on the power handling requirements of the application.
The device is packaged in a robust, yet ultra small MSOP8G 8 lead SMT package. Occupying 14,9 mm², it replaces complicated PIN diode switch assemblies with a smaller PCB footprint.
