Fanless panel PC in stainless steel and aluminium

26 January 2005 Computer/Embedded Technology

MPL has introduced a unique Panel PC range (PANEL-PIP). Without requiring a fan or air vents, the product is flexible and expandable for many customer needs and requirements. The base of the new Panel PC solution is the widely used packaged industrial-PC family (PIP) from MPL.

The PANEL-PIP range is available in stainless steel as well as in an aluminium housing (internally chromium-plated and externally powder-coated). Various display sizes, from 12,1" up to 19" with superior optical specifications (up to 300 cd/m and a view angle of up to 89°) can be chosen.

A wide selection of different CPUs with low power consumption (eg, 5x86 - 133 MHz up to Pentium III 933 MHz with 3D-Graphik, 4 x AGP) are available. The 3D Graphic chip supports two displays simultaneously with different images and applications. The LCD is mounted behind an antiglare and protective glass or touchscreen and the complete Panel PC has IP65/NEMA4 protection rating.

Interfaces can be accessed externally: keyboard, mouse, four x serial, parallel, USB, LAN, SCSI/Firewire, CAN, CRT/TFT for a second display. The PANEL-PIP can be internally expanded via the PC/104, PC/104-Plus (eg, WLAN, GPS...).

Typical applications are in medicine, marine, food industry as well as in any industrial or mobile (car, bus, train) where quality is a key issue.
