New GSM/GPRS wireless communication OEM device

9 March 2005 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

RF Design has extended its wireless communication products portfolio with the addition of Telit to its line card. Telit is a world leader in the design, development and manufacturing of mobile and wireless communication devices such as GSM/GPRS handsets and OEM modules.

Telit's latest product is the Trizium module. The Telit Trizium is a small lightweight, SMD component with low power consumption. The small 31,3 x 41,4 x 3,6 mm BGA-packaged device allows digital communications services wherever there is a GSM 900, DCS 1800 and PCS 1900 MHz network, or GPRS class 10.

The GPRS TCP/IP stack is included, as well as hardware and software support for a colour camera. The module has an extended temperature range of -25 to

+75°C and its lack of connectors enhances the device's reliability in the end-use application and helps lower costs.

The Trizium is supported by extensive documentation, a ready-to-use Trizium Reference Board and a complete Trizium Evaluation Kit which interfaces the Trizium module to appropriate power supplies, external SIM card reader, RS232 port, handset and hands-free connections.

The Trizium is designed for M2M Industrial or Consumer wireless applications such as remote meter billing, vending machines, automotive applications and fleet management, emergency services, security systems, environmental monitoring, pos terminals, PDA handheld devices and smartphones.
