Waterproofed Mini PC for mobile outdoor applications

23 March 2005 Computer/Embedded Technology

Digital-Logic now offers its proven Microspace-PCX series housed in a compact waterproofed metal case (IP54, optional IP65). With front lid, the Pentium M performance fanless PC is an ideal solution for mobile and outdoor use. New functions like the Vector CAN-Bus interface, fast serial interfaces - such as two USB V2.0 and a Firewire IEEE 1394b interface at the front and rear sides - as well as protected changeable media, an optical drive and exchangeable backup battery, make many new applications possible.

The MPCX47 is based on the i855GME chipset and uses the 1,4 GHz Intel Pentium M 738 processor with 2048 K L2cache. The main memory is 512 MB DDR RAM (optional 1 GB). It also offers a series of opto-isolated input/output ports. These are eight digital outputs with relays to drive loads directly (2 A/48 V d.c.), eight digital inputs for input voltages of up to 30 V, eight 12-bit analog inputs with a voltage range from 0 V to 10 V and three counters.

The outdoor PC, which is available with GPS and GSM option, has dimensions of 300 x 160 x 66 mm. and operates from 0 to +50°C and without optical drive and with preheat option also in the extended temperature range of -40 to +50°C.
