GPS receiver module has high sensitivity

20 April 2005 Telecoms, Datacoms, Wireless, IoT

The CW25-NAV is a small OEM surface-mount GPS module from Navsync that has been specifically designed for extremely high sensitivity for use in very weak GPS signal environments.

The CW25-NAV can track GPS satellites down to signal levels as low as -155 dBm (and can autonomously acquire satellites down to signal levels as low as -143 dBm), while still maintaining TTFF (time to first fix) performance of under 45 seconds outdoors during a cold start. The module achieves this level of performance by using a high performance baseband processor that can search in parallel 12288 time/frequency bins. This level of performance allows the CW25-NAV to obtain rapid positional fixes in extremely weak GPS signal areas such as under dense foliage, dense urban canyons and even inside buildings.

The CW25-NAV has an exceptionally small surface mount package (25 x 27 x 4 mm) with a highly integrated architecture that requires minimal external components, allowing easy integration into host systems.

Applications include: indoor tracking; severe urban canyons; navigation; vehicle tracking; asset tracking; personnel tracking; location-based services; security; surveying.
