Exceptionally small FM broadcast radio tuners

Silicon Laboratories' Si4700/01 chip integrates the entire tuner function for stereo FM broadcast radio reception, from antenna interface to audio output. This FM radio tuner IC family is claimed to be the industry's first to leverage digital integration and 100% CMOS process technology. It requires only one external supply bypass capacitor and less than 20 mm² of board space. It allows FM radio reception to be added to a variety of portable devices where board space, performance, low power consumption, and ease of use are requirements. It uses the company's 'Aero' digital low intermediate frequency receiver architecture and frequency synthesiser technology, and digital signal processing provides optimum sound quality with varying reception conditions. An integrated regulator allows direct connection to a 2,7 to 5,5 V source.
