Advantech's MIC-3316 uses the Ultra Low Voltage Celeron 650 MHz CPU, which means a wider temperature range is tolerated and improved reliability is achieved. Even though it does not need an onboard fan, it is a powerful CPU card with up to 384 MB SDRAM, optional rear I/O support, and many I/O connectors. MIC-3316 is therefore very suitable for rugged industrial applications.
MIC-3316 is engineered for diverse applications, with several ordering options. The standard model comes with basic functions such as, two RS232/422/485 ports, two USB ports, two CompactFlash sockets, one 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port, a DVI-I connector, and a watchdog timer. For more demanding requirements, it can be ordered with a parallel port, audio ports, an external CompactFlash socket, and with both front and rear I/O configuration. There is also support for CPUs ranging from ULV Celeron 400 to ULV Pentium III 933 MHz.
MIC-3316 also features special functions such as Timer IRQ which is used in programming to define intervals for interrupts directly by user programs. This helps the MIC-3316 to provide higher precision in timing control. Another special function is auto-flow, which is used to simplify communications.
The CompactPCI MIC-3316 CPU card is aimed for use in mission-critical applications such as military applications with its high reliability, but is suited for any application where reliability is important.
