Italian electronics manufacturer, Mipot, is using Atmel's fully-integrated multichannel transceiver for its two-way radio applications.
With an interest in reliable short-range signal transmission, Mipot is offering both standard modules and OEM designs for remote controls, telemetry, fire alarms, social alarms and heating equipment using the Atmel AT86RF211/211S. The company's products address requirements for both point-to-point links and for master/slave configurations.
The AT86RF211/211S was chosen specifically for its super-heterodyne structure with distributed filtering, high selectivity and IIP3 and its integrated high-power amplifier for long-range applications, according to the companies. Mipot is also using a companion Atmel AVR microcontroller. Prototype designs submitted to a certified test laboratory show compliance with the ETSI rules and FCC regulations at first pass, says Atmel.
The AT86RF211/RF211S device is a single-chip transceiver dedicated to low-power wireless applications, for licence-free ISM band operations from 400 MHz to 950 MHz.
